WATER COLORING WITH KARI ANDERSON - Children ages 6 through 12
Capture the beautiful colors of summer while exploring the wonderful art of watercoloring with Door County's very own renowned watercolorist, Kari Anderson. Participants will work side-by-side with Kari to practice various watercoloring techniques. Using the techniques, participants will create a water color painting of their very own to take home by the end of the session. Kari's teaching process is guaranteed to express the artist in you! Even if you've never picked up a watercolor brush or taken a watercoloring class, have no fear. This class is for all ability levels! Please bring a water bottle, hat and sunscreen in case we go outside.
PAINTING BIRD HOUSES WITH BETHANY KIRWEN - Ages 8 to 12
Who says painting is for the birds? Have fun painting your own decorative birdhouse with colorful acrylic designs. Large bottle gourds, once growing in the garden, are dried and ready to be painted and transformed into one-of-a-kind creations. No two are a like! Wear appropriate clothing for painting.
ART WITH KASEY HEMBEL - Ages 7 to 12
Pastel Portraits - A unique and fun mix between drawing and painting! Students will use a combination of oil pastels and turpentine to make bright, colorful self-portraits. First the pastels are used to draw and color and then the drawings are brushed over with turpentine which makes the drawing look like a painting by deepening the color and adding texture. This class has a lot of room for creativity and inventiveness. Students are asked to bring a photo of themselves from home. All materials are safe and non-toxic.
MORE ART WITH KASEY HEMBEL - Ages 7 to 12
Active Drawing - Looking for an upbeat way to draw with lots of experimentation and activity? Pedimente drawing is the way to go! Students will experiment with all sorts of drawing materials from India ink to charcoal to ebony pencils in a round-robin fashion.This way we learn about new media and drawing techniques while still being active and having fun! Final creations will be in the Italian tradition of "pedimente drawing" which involves many layers drawn over the top of one another.
PHOTOGRAPHY WITH SUZANNE ROSE - Ages 7 & up
Experience an extravaganza of photo fun with acclaimed Door County photographer Suzanne Rose. Learn how to take portraits and photograph a still life with a 35 mm camera. On a field trip take crazy pictures with a fun toy camera you get to keep and use again and again. Outside make sun prints with natural objects collected on a hike. Then jump in the pool for some underwater photography. It is a full day of creativity with cameras, film and photographic fun. Note: Bring a sack lunch, sunscreen, hat , walking shoes, (no sandals or flipflops), swimsuit and towel.
PAINT FLING WITH BRITTANY HUNT - Ages 7 to 12
Participants explore various forms of paint application through the works of abstract and expressionist painters. Participants are encouraged to think creatively by using tools such as water balloons, brushes, squirt guns and other media to create their own maserpiece. Each chid will go home with a large canvas board painting. Note: Wear appropriate clothing for painting, suncreen, and dress for outside.

Flowers for Kids, is an educational program that is designed to teach schoolchildren about how to grow, take care of , and enoy flowers. The class encompasses a little bit of biology, chemistry and artistry. By the end of the class, all involved know how to treat flowers, make flower food, and do a basic flower arrangement with fillers, lines, focals, and greens. The best part is that the students then get to take home their bouquets.
