Impact

Last Monday at the Door County YMCA, a 7 year old gained the confidence to swim a full lap in the pool; a teen had their bill get voted into a law in our Youth in Government program; and one of our senior members had a spirit-lifting conversation with a friend after a presentation on heart health.  On Thursday, a single mom was again comforted picking up her children at the Y after work knowing they had a safe place to play after school; and on that same day an adult member in his fifties who, a month ago started walking on the Y indoor track four times a week had his blood pressure re-checked by the nurse at the Y and it was in the normal range for the first time in five years.

All of these people come to the Door County YMCA for different reasons-some to play, others to visit with friends and some to exercise.  We call these "the great good things" that happen every day at the YMCA.  But you should know, one of these "great good things" might not have occurred if someone like you had not donated to our Strong Kids scholarship fund to make it possible.  One in five people at the Door County YMCA receives financial assistance in order to afford their membership.  Your donation is another "great good thing" at the YMCA!
