Impact After 3

“Impact After 3” combines the mission work of The Y and the Boys and Girls Club all under one roof...

What: An afterschool experience that develops confidence and friendships in a safe environment that supports learning,  healthy eating, and physical activity.

When:   Mondays at the Y in Fish Creek from 3:30 pm to 5:15 pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Gibraltar School in the Mural Gym from 3:30 pm to 5:15 pm.

Who:   Y Members and Boys & Girls Club members in Kindergarten and older.

The YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club are pleased to announce that the afterschool program, Impact After 3, is successfully underway!  This program, which runs Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays afterschool for children in Kindergarten and older, brings the skills and mission work of both organizations together to provide a safe and meaningful afterschool experience.

“The Boys & Girls Club of Door County is thrilled to be working in collaboration with the Gibraltar School District and the YMCA. It is through collaboration that Door County youth can be served best. Both organizations have caring and skilled staff that really want to make a difference in kids’ lives.  We want to make it easy for kids to come to us and work on developing skills that increases their self-esteem and makes their life at school and home better”, said new Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club, Heather Powell.

Through the feedback from parents in our community, the details of the collaboration were born.   It is important to note that the program meets at the Y on Mondays and in the Mural Gym at the school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  In addition, late bus pick up is available at both locations for children in Grades 3 and above, or younger participants with accompanying siblings in Grades 3 and above.

“Our parents spoke to us and we listened.  This program allows two great community organizations to bring our best to the table and help our kids who need a safe place to learn and grow afterschool.  I am very excited to think of the opportunities ahead and how much our kids will benefit from both our organizations involvement in this program,” said Matt Luders, Relationship Development Executive for the Y in Fish Creek.
