Specialty Swimming

Boy in WetsuitADULT SWIM LESSONS Ages 13+ (Sturgeon Bay & Northern Door)                            Are you unsure of yourself in the water?  It is never too late to learn how to swim and improve your skills in the water.  This class is for beginners only.


MASTERS SWIMMING-Ages 18+ (Sturgeon Bay)
This program is designed to increase swimming skills, endurance, and to introduce swimmers to masters swimming competition. There are common group sessions and posted workouts for open swim times. 

TRIATHLON TRAINING - Ages 16+                                                                      This class is designed to develop stroke efficiency, endurance, and strategies to aid in competitive swimming or triathlon swimming.  

SCUBA - Ages 12 and up (Sturgeon Bay)
Participants interested in Scuba certification schould contact Mike McHugh for additional information, including course fees/certifications.  A class will be scheduled if there is ample interest. 

PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS - (Sturgeon Bay & Northern Door)
If your child needs one-on-one time and attention during swim lessons, private swim lessons are a great option.  YMCA aquatic staff assist your child individually in their progressive swim lesson growth and development.  Simply register and pay for private lessons and who will be contacted by the Aquatics Director to schedule your child's lessons at a time that is convenient for you, the YMCA and the instructor.  Semi-private lessons allows two children to take private swim lessons at the same time.

LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION - Ages 16+ (Sturgeon Bay & Northern Door)
If you are interested in becoming a certified lifeguard, please ask at the Welcome Center for information on the next introductory meeting.  The Details of the course will be covered, which includes course curriculum/commitment, scheduling dates and time for trainings, class fees and certifications.  Read more here.
