ROTARY INTERACT - Grades 9-12 (Sturgeon Bay)
Rotary Interact is an international service organization of teens with over 250,000 members worldwide. Our club in Sturgeon Bay started in 1999. Designed as the teen version of Rotary, the young people who dedicate themselves to Interact pledge service above self and meet regularly to organize projects aimed at making a difference in the lives of others both locally and abroad. Interact is teen driven. In that regard, it's the ultimate club for young people. Teens run the meetings, teens make the decisions, teens raise the money and give it back to the community, teens make the difference. In the last ten years, the Door County Rotary Interact Club has granted $20,000 to various projects, mission trips, youth groups, and good causes all over the world. We usually average between 20-30 members each year and we meet regularly on Wednesday nights at 5:30 at the YMCA.

YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT - Sturgeon Bay
The Door County Youth in Government Program was established over 22 years ago. Our group consists of 8th through 12th Grade students from the four local high schools. The purpose of the Youth in Government (YIG) program is to encourage lifelong responsible citizenship through the study of public issues, debate of public policy, writing of legislation and experience in the State Government Process. YIG programs also provide the opportunity for self-fulfillment and lasting friendships, and enhance our community with the active leadership potential of our high school youth.
Besides being active at the state level, our kids are branching out at the local and national levels as well. Our students count the ballots at the local elections for KIDS VOTE programs. We are currently building relationships with our local city administration and council members in hopes to become even more active in the future in our own community.
