DCY Swim Team Notches Strong Showing at Sectional Meet

Sturgeon Bay, WI – The DCY Swim Team made a splash at the Northwest YMCA Sectional Meet in Wausau this past weekend, taking first place with an impressive 700+ point lead. 89 DCY Swimmers participated, proudly representing our Y and our community.

The girls placed second overall, while the boys took first place, showcasing their team's depth and talent. DCY SWIM's team goal was to finish the season strong at this meet, and they delivered a spectacular display of great time drops, adding more than 14 swimmers to their State team.

DCY Swim team dominated the competition with 59 Sectional Champions and 46 Sectional 2nd place finishes, including relays and individual events. The team also had more than 90 Personal Best Times in the meet, a testament to their dedication and hard work throughout the season.

"Our team is incredibly proud of our swimmers and their achievements at the Northwest YMCA Sectional Meet," said Coach Mike McHugh. "We are thrilled to have set a record of 64 swimmers qualifying for the State Meet and eclipsing 145 swimmers this year, another new record of our program. We look forward to traveling to the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, WI. this next weekend for our State Championship Meet and finishing the season strong."
