Second Annual Day of Giving Exemplifies Community Support

thank. you

The Door County community came out in full force to support the Y during its second annual Day of Giving that was held March 2. From open to close at all both the Northern Door Program Center in Fish Creek and Sturgeon Bay Program Center - members rallied to raise awareness and funds for the Y's Annual Campaign.

From racing rubber ducks, playing BINGO, sporting class t-shirts or enjoying some Door County Coffee, staff, volunteers and members were having fun and working to create a better community. Together, over 170 members donated to our Annual Campaign on Day of Giving, raising a total of $20,242.00.

The Annual Campaign ensures that no matter the race, age, economic status or social group, the Y is welcoming to anyone who wishes to participate in building a healthy mind, body, and spirit. No one is every turned away from the Y due to an inability to pay, making the Y a safe haven for all. When you give to the Y’s Annual Campaign, you are funding life-changing programs that help thousands of children, adults and families in our community to learn, grow and thrive every day.

The Annual Campaign Supports:

·Nearly 1,000 quietly fee assisted members.

·Thousands of free lunches and snacks served to children and adults year-round at various locations.

·Select Specialty Programming focused on fall prevention, memory, senior wellness, and cancer support.

·Safety around water programming, ensuring that each person can feel comfortable in, and have fun around the water.

THANK YOU to all donors who make the Y home to many of our neighbors and visitors; we couldn’t do it without YOU. When a strong YMCA provides meaningful opportunities - such as helping young people grow into responsible adults, supporting working families with child care, keeping a senior healthy and active, or offering wellness programs to combat obesity and chronic disease - our whole community benefits.
