Door County YMCA Celebrates Steve and Jackie Kane Receiving Philanthropic Leadership Award

DOOR COUNTY, WI – The Door County YMCA proudly congratulates Steve and Jackie Kane on receiving the Richard D. Egan Philanthropic Leadership Award at the Door County Community Foundation’s 2026 Celebration of Giving.

This recognition reflects what so many in our community already know: Steve and Jackie consistently step forward when leadership, generosity, and action are needed most.

As a member of the Door County YMCA Board of Directors, Jackie Kane has helped guide the organization through two strategic planning processes that strengthened financial stability and positioned the Y for long-term success. Her leadership has helped ensure the YMCA remains able to serve the entire community—from our youngest participants to our oldest members.

Together, Steve and Jackie’s support came at a pivotal moment in the YMCA’s history. Their investment in our mission provided stability during a critical period and helped place the organization on a trajectory of sustainability that will benefit generations to come.

Their impact extends well beyond philanthropy. Through their time, leadership, and commitment to Door County, they have strengthened organizations and expanded opportunities across our community.

“Steve and Jackie have demonstrated what true community leadership looks like,” said Tonya Felhofer, CEO of the Door County YMCA. “Their commitment to ensuring the long-term strength of our organization means that families, children, adults, and seniors throughout Door County will continue to have access to programs and services that improve health, create belonging, and strengthen community. We are deeply grateful for their partnership and friendship.”

Congratulations, Steve and Jackie, on this well-deserved honor and thank you for continuing to invest in the future of Door County.
